At Discovery Specialists, we know that delivering the best results means staying at the forefront of legal tech. That’s why we sent Megan, our discovery administrator, to Relativity Fest Sydney earlier this year, the first of its kind in the Oceania/Asia region.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the wider Relativity community, explore upcoming developments and get hands-on with new tools especially Relativity aiR, the company’s suite of AI-powered discovery features.

AI tools are changing discovery

A highlight of the conference was hearing from Relativity’s executive team about the growing role of generative AI in document review. aiR for Review, in particular, is already being used by leading firms in Australia to improve both speed and accuracy.

The tool allows you to:

  • Quickly analyse large volumes of data using matter-specific prompts;

  • Understand the AI’s reasoning through in-document evidence and commentary;

  • Catch red flags and inconsistencies that may need a closer look;

  • Reduce review time dramatically; one firm reviewed 1 million documents in just 18 days.

Another promising tool, aiR for Privilege, was also featured as a way to better identify potentially privileged documents, reducing the risk of oversight in the final review.

Hands-on training and real-world examples

Megan joined learning labs to trial these tools in mock discovery scenarios and heard directly from Australian firms using Relativity in practice. The sessions brought valuable insights into how the tools can be shaped to suit each matter, and how prompt writing plays a crucial role in getting accurate results from AI.

What this means for you

Discovery tools are evolving fast, and we're investing in learning and training to make sure we evolve with them. Whether it's using AI to assist with the early stages of discovery, quality control or privilege review, we're exploring ways to deliver faster, sharper outcomes without compromising quality.

Whether your next matter is around the corner or a long way off, we're building on our expertise and keeping pace with the technology, so when you're ready to act, we are too.
